City of Beaumont

Buying and selling in Beaumont

French roots, a hilltop church, and fast new growth.

Beaumont was founded as a francophone settlement, and that heritage still shapes the town — French-language and immersion schooling, French street and business names, and the church on the hill that the town centre is built around.

It has been one of the fastest-growing communities in the Edmonton region, with large new subdivisions added on the north and west sides. Its position between Edmonton and the Nisku industrial park and airport makes it a practical base for a lot of buyers.

What to check before you buy in Beaumont

  • Builder incentives and lot premiums. With a lot of builder inventory, there's often more room to negotiate than buyers expect.
  • Traffic on 50 Street at rush hour if you're commuting into Edmonton.
  • Which school your address is designated to, since Beaumont's growth means new schools open over time.

Who it tends to suit

Families who want French schooling options, and buyers working south of the city who want new construction with a small-town centre.

If you're buying new here

Beaumont has a high concentration of active builder inventory, which means real negotiating room on incentives, lot premiums and finishing allowances.
